Sociologists of ASU Train Their Kazakhstani Colleagues

This week Astrakhan State University receives guests from Atyrau State University (Kazakhstan). A special workshop whose theme is “Organization of Regional Sociological Survey” is held for them.

Having met Dr. Konstantin Markelov, Acting Rector of ASU, our Kazakhstani guests negotiated further cooperation between the two Universities and shared their impressions of the workshop.

This is the first visit of a Kazakhstani delegation to be held in such a specific format. The training that our Chair of Sociology and our Center of Sociological Research arranged for them shall start continuous cooperation between our Universities.

The Regional Scientific Center of Sociological Research is now being established at Atyrau State University, whereas a similar center has been operating at Astrakhan State University for a long time. It has a large team of qualified specialists, as well as all the necessary hardware and software. Sociologists of ASU are ready to share their experience and contribute to international cooperation.

During this week, our guests from Atyrau will cover an intensive training program; they will also be given lectures and consultations.

Mr. Zhenis Kalibekov, head of the delegation and Director of the Regional Scientific Center of Sociological Research of Atyrau State University, shares his impressions of this visit to Astrakhan.

“Kazakhstan and Russia have always been good neighbors. Now a lot of work related to Sociology is done in Atyrau. I’m very grateful to Astrakhan State University and its Rector Dr. Markelov, with whom we just had a productive meeting. We discussed our plans and shared our views on our further cooperation. We got bright and memorable impressions of ASU – top-level professionals work here”.
