Italian People Wish to Train at Astrakhan’s Enterprises Thanks to Graduate of ASU

Alina Kunusova-Tripicchio, a graduate of Astrakhan State University, gives lectures in international communication in Pisa, Italy. She keeps on cooperating with ASU. Alina just met Dr. Konstantin Markelov, Acting Rector of ASU, to propose various options of further cooperation on behalf of the Italian party.

The official agreement with our Italian partners was signed in 2017. At the initial stage of cooperation, four Italian students came to ASU; a student from Astrakhan studied in Italy. The next academic year, interaction between the two parties was backed by an Erasmus+ grant; the student exchange was continued; a professor from Pisa came to Astrakhan.

Alina Kunusova-Tripicchio played a remarkable role in this cooperation. She teaches in Italy; besides, she works at ASU and supervises cooperation with Italy on behalf of ASU. At her meeting with our Acting Rector, she pointed out that our Italian partners desire to cooperate with Astrakhan, as they see real prospects for further cooperation.

In his turn, Dr. Markelov highly appreciated this cooperation and said: “We need to develop this cooperation in not just languages, even though that’s essential and definitely necessary. We’re interested in contacts with Italian universities on those fields that are of strategic importance for us. Those are such urgent and topical spheres as engineering, robotics, digital technologies, shipbuilding, and agriculture. It requires not just our joint efforts, but joint activities of a large number of educational institutions both in Russia and outside it”.

At the meeting, it was decided to initiate agreements concerning joint bachelor and master programs; Italian student will be able to train at enterprises of Astrakhan. Alina said that serious interaction between ASU and large companies – leaders of the labor market – is very attractive for our Italian partners. Foreign students would obtain hands-on experience, which is possible thanks to our contacts with the Lotos Economic Development Zone, Lukoil, Gazprom, etc.

In his turn, Dr. Markelov suggested that Alina joined the Association of Graduates of ASU that our University is now establishing. The core of this association should include those who has made a successful career, who has not forgotten his or her alma mater, and who can be a good example for the next generations of our alumni.
