ASU Master’s Degree Students Discuss the Issue of Linguistics in Technology with an Invited Foreign Expert

Astrakhan State University welcomed Damjan Popi?, an Associate Professor of the Department of Translation in the University of Ljubljana. Damjan held a discussion with MA students of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation on the role of linguists in the advanced 21st century.

The expert has already met our future conference interpreters: last year he also visited Astrakhan State University and gave lectures. This time, the guest from Slovenia and our MA students discussed the role of technologies in our life in general and the influence of digital technologies on information perception and transfer.

The speaker also raised some puzzling disputable questions, in particular about information security and database usefulness.
