ASU Develops Cooperation with Uzbek Universities

The Russian-Uzbek educational forum, recently held in Astrakhan, brought new official academic partners from Central Asia.

The forum is being held in Tashkent and is confined to President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Uzbekistan. Representatives of the Russian educational sphere brought up for discussion the issue of training in-demand professionals under the modern economy conditions. The event was attended by delegations of Russian and Uzbek leading universities. The forum kicked start to various joint initiatives and paved the way for further international cooperation.

Astrakhan State University, represented by its Acting Rector Konstantin Markelov, signed several agreements on cooperation with Uzbek leading universities.

The university entered into partnership, among others, with the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, considered to be the leading university in Central Asia, with the Tashkent State Agrarian University, the oldest and largest agricultural educational institution in the region, and the Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov, the largest technical university of Central Asia in the spheres of aviation, geology, mechanical engineering, power engineering, electrical technology and automation.
