ASU Students Are Called to Respect Traditional Values
Astrakhan State University freshmen met with representatives of the administration of the Astrakhan Region Governor, religious denominations, presidents of national and cultural associations and law-enforcement officers.
Konstantin Markelov, the ASU Acting Rector, welcomed the meeting participants and called them to take an active part in the regional social life, respect each other and be friendly with representatives of all ethnic groups.
Representatives of religious, national and cultural organizations talked to the students about the importance of moral and religious rules in modern society, told them about activities of national and cultural communities and invited them to participate in studies and promotion of traditional values of the Russian peoples living in the Astrakhan region.
While concluding the event, Konstantin Markelov suggested that such talks with freshmen were traditionally held at the beginning of the academic year and invited all the guests to take part in the university celebration of the Studentship Day.
