Railway Industry Leaders Develop Innovative Strategies at ASU

Astrakhan State University held an opening ceremony of the Expanded Board of Senior Engineers of the Privolzhskaya Railway. The main topic of the event is formation of an innovative sphere and implementation of the main focus areas of the «White Book», a systemic document on research and technical policy of the company.

The possibility of holding such an event was discussed in October during the official meeting of Konstantin Markelov, the ASU Acting Rector, with representatives of the Privolzhskaya Railway administration. The Board meeting gathers leading railway experts, company directors and HEIs and FEIs representatives, who train respective human resources. During the 2-day session, they are addressing the main strategic tasks on development of the industry, sharing their experience and outlining joint plans.

Rector stressed that such cooperation allows to successfully tackle the tasks the country is now setting to the Caspian region which, in this context, includes far more regions than just the states bordering on the Caspian Sea.

The Board meeting programme includes different meetings, discussions and presentations. The participants are aiming at efficient and interesting dialogue and exchange of ideas.

By cooperating with researchers and following the most up-to-date tendencies, the Russian Railway successfully meets sophisticated modern standards. Astrakhan State University is ready to get into joint activities on developing the railway industry and ensure strong position in this labour market for its graduates.
