ASU Deans’ Offices Compete for the Title of the Most Decorated for New Year

Yesterday, a careful commission, headed by Rector Konstantin Markelov, started assessing the participants of the competition on the best decoration of a dean’s office at ASU.

During several days, the members of the organizing committee, involving representatives of academic and research divisions, the Labour Union and the Student’s Council, will visit every faculty of ASU and will evaluate the employees and students’ efforts on their merits. The organizing committee takes into account not only the New Year decorations but the general view of the offices as well. They also pay attention to the documentation keeping and information stands.

The competition gave the employees of all the academic offices the opportunity to get creative in full. The New Year’s Eve is the time when even austere official offices change to celebrate the occasion, and these changes spread to corridors and lecture rooms as well because, as Elena Savelieva, the Dean of the Law Faculty, said, celebration must be everywhere. Both teachers and students are involved in creating this festival atmosphere. Each faculty copied with the task in its own way, presenting special design ideas to the committee.

Winners of the competition for the title of the most decorated dean’s office will be chosen quite soon, and the organizers are still keeping us intrigued.
