ASU Students Were Awarded for Cooperation with the Special Economic Zone “Lotus”
The award took place at an annual press conference, held by the SEZ administration at Astrakhan State University.
Opening the meeting, Konstantin Markelov, the ASU Acting Rector, reiterated well-established cooperation between the SEZ and ASU: the university acts as a training centre for the SEZ enterprises, and its students can prepare practice-oriented thesis projects and test their scientific developments at the SEZ.
Sergey Milushkin, the SEZ Director-General, told the audience about the results of the SEZ “Lotus” activities in 2018.
Answering the journalists’ question about prospects of the SEZ, Sergey Milushkin noted that now the administration is negotiating with 5-6 companies, which produce housebuilding panels, polypropylene fabrics, firefighting systems for ships and other products, on assigning them the status of residents.
At the end of the meeting, the SEZ “Lotus” Director-General handed letters of gratitude to journalist teams that have actively cooperated with the SEZ, including a team of students of the ASU Faculty of Philology & Journalism who prepared an analytical report within the Caspian Media Forum, held in September 2018.
