ASU Translators and Interpreters Celebrate New Year Creatively
The Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation organized an impressive celebration for its MA students and teachers. Among those who came to congratulate the colleagues, there were representatives of other faculties, the ASU top management and ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov himself.
The School students and teachers decorated the lecture rooms, and even the wall screens displayed New Year pictures instead of foreign politicians’ speeches this day. A cosy, almost family atmosphere, which the School is so famous for, helped the students and the guests to feel the celebration joy. Konstantin Markelov, the main guest of the party, was welcomed with applauses and confetti firecrackers.
In his turn, the Rector heartily congratulated future linguists and their teachers.
"Today the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation has become a beautiful calling card of our university not only in Russia but around the world thanks to those partners that we have and are going to have. Your profession is very in-demand, and we have further plans, some of them you are aware of — to launch Hindi programmes, to work with a number of other languages. And it is very good — the more opportunities we have, the more interesting it is," Konstantin Markelov stressed.
Olga Egorova, the Head of the Project Office of International Cooperation & Development, which the Caspian School as a university subdivision belongs to, noted that the School achievements in cooperation with foreign partners depend a lot on students who demonstrate their high level at traineeships and enhance the university prestige.
The MA students also prepared a surprise for the guests — a video with congratulations on the upcoming New Year in six languages. Then the guests were invited to a buffet table where another creative gift of our interpreters and translators was waiting for them — branded cupcakes with ASU and the Caspian School logos.
