Astrakhan State University is actively participating in the development of the digital project “World Engineering Competitions” (WEC).

The World Engineering Competitions are a unique contest that unites a plenty of educational platforms and young participants all over the world: the project is implemented in Russia, Belarus, Turkey and other countries. Astrakhan State University acts as one of such platforms and now is putting forward an initiative to involve major regional industrialists to the WEC organization, including the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC), and the Astrakhan Shipbuilding Production Association, as a regional partner of the USC, is already welcoming young engineers.

More than 30 participants took part in the regional series in March, from 10-year-old schoolchildren to 4th year students, at five platforms — Astrakhan State University, Astrakhan State Technical University, Regional School Technopark, Kvantorium and Caspian Energy companies — in the area “Global Designathon”: the participants implemented projects on multi-dimensional design, object modeling and animation. As a result, the young engineers received respective certificates that are recognized by the regional partners of the competitions and prove the participants’ status and competences.
