Tomato Robot, Phyto Fruit Candy and Ethno-Trailer: Festival of Science at ASU
Astrakhan State University held the 4th Festival of Student Science, where young scientists of the university presented their projects. The scope of innovative development areas included agriculture, teaching, high-tech, culture and a lot more. The exhibition of student initiatives was attended by ASU Acting Rector Konstantin Markelov, who assessed a practical potential of many of the displayed developments.
This time, the festival was held with regard to the long-term integrated programme «National Technology Initiative», and the projects were distributed by respective key markets — MarineNet, EduNet, FoodNet, AutoNet, etc.
Each faculty traditionally presents its developments, and this year it was especially encouraging that many engineering and humanitarian ideas were focused on regional development.
There were plenty of projects, dedicated to agriculture, innovations in regional culture development and ethnic cooperation, as well as educational initiatives. Of course, a large cluster of projects was related to high technologies.
ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov had a detailed talk with young inventors and had a look at their innovations. He especially commended developments with practical importance and suggested that their authors cooperated with enterprises and companies that are partners of ASU and can support implementation of their ideas. As always, the Festival of Student Science is only the first step for new projects, and the most successful of them will have a long and efficient development path ahead.
