ASU Welcomes Another Expert from Italian University

Konstantin Markelov, the Acting Rector of Astrakhan State University, has met with Dr. Paolo Lino from the Polytechnic University of Bari. ASU has long-standing productive relations with the Italian university, and the visit of the distinguished guest kicked start to new ideas and projects.

Paoli Lino said he liked Astrakhan very much and he had been shown a lot of interesting developments of ASU researchers. On behalf of his university, the professor expressed profound desire for maintaining and developing cooperation in many spheres, especially since both universities are located in agrarian regions, and that means they have many topics for joint projects.

The ASU Rector told the guest about university work with large regional industrialists, in particular with agricultural enterprises. He made particular reference to the official partnership with the agro-industrial complex "Astrakhansky", where an Italian equipment is used and ASU researchers are involved in production modernization. In his turn, the Italian guest noted that the Polytechnic University of Bari has close relations with large international companies, which implies, among other things, the functioning of joint laboratories. These are "open space" labs where university researchers work together with specialists of partner enterprises. This experience interested Konstantin Markelov a lot, as Astrakhan State University is also going to develop joint activities with regional enterprises in every way.

The official meeting revealed a plenty of common topics and innovative ideas of the two universities, therefore scientific partnership became the main sphere for cooperation, discussed at the meeting.
