ASU Participates in Educational Project “Multilingualism”
The Department of Continuing Education of Astrakhan State University is implementing additional professional programmes in foreign languages under the agreement with the Institute of Education Development.
The classes are organized for teachers of urban and rural schools of Astrakhan region. The course is delivered by highly qualified trainers of the ASU Faculty of Foreign Languages.
Last week saw a launch of the professional retraining programme “Theory and Methods of Teaching French as a Second Foreign Language at a Comprehensive School”. Besides, the Department has re-launched the advanced training course “Modern Methods and Technology of Teaching German as a Second Foreign Language at a Comprehensive School”. A similar programme in French is also being undertaken by another group of teachers.
In accordance with the requirements of the project “Multilingualism”, the programmes are aimed at training experts for urban and rural schools who will be able to teach more than one foreign language. The classes are designed according to the peer-to-peer approach and include active exchange of opinions, dialogues and case studies.
The schoolteachers commend the high level of the course organization, professionalism of the trainers and practical orientation of the programmes.
