ASU Rector Presents Main Areas of ASU Scientific and Engineering Cooperation at EEF-2019
The Rector of Astrakhan State University keeps participating in the 5th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok. Today, Konstantin Markelov was a speaker at the session “International Cooperation in Science and Technology: Breakthrough Projects with Asia-Pacific Countries”.
The session covered the issues of development of the scientific cooperation between Asia-Pacific countries at all levels — interstate and regional ones, between specific organizations, teams and researchers. During the discussion, the participants touched upon the issues of maximization of the international scientific and engineering partnership in order to achieve efficient cooperation.
In his speech, Konstantin Markelov stressed that Astrakhan State University has been cooperating with Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia countries for more than 10 years: the university implements student academic mobility programmes with universities of China, South Korea and Japan on a regular basis. The Rector noted that this year the university has signed several agreements with Indian universities on implementing joint projects.
When the session was over, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Aleksandr Sergeev and Konstantin Markelov discussed some prospects of scientific activities in the Caspian region. Aleksandr Sergeev suggested that Astrakhan State University participated in organizing the scientific forum in Baku in 2020 and held a large session at ASU in 2021 within the Caspian Economic Forum.
