Another Meeting of Academic Council at Astrakhan State University

Representatives of the university administration discussed current issues, while Rector Konstantin Markelov congratulated his colleagues on well-deserved achievements and awarded several distinguished staff members and students of the university.

The meeting traditionally started with a pleasant ceremony of awarding with golden badges of merit of the All-Russian Sports Complex “Ready for Labor and Defense”, as well as with the letters of appreciation from the parish of the St. Sergius of Radonezh Cathedral, the Unit of Church Charity and Social Service of the Astrakhan Eparchy and from parishioners of the St. Sergius of Radonezh Cathedral under construction for the employees and students’ active participation in the charitable campaign for multi-child and low-income families “Provide a Family with Meal” and organization of the all-Russian charitable campaign “White Flower”. Representatives of the Faculty of Psychology, the volunteer movement “On Wings of Goodness” and members of the amateur singing club of Astrakhan State University were among the holders of acknowledgements. Rector Konstantin Markelov also was honoured with the letter of appreciation from the Astrakhan Eparchy.

The next point of the meeting was the election of ASU teachers for the positions of department heads and professors, as well as nomination for the title of Associate Professor in technical majors. Besides, at the meeting the representatives of the university administration discussed several current issues: they approved the regulation “On Rights for Intellectual Activity Results” and the topic of the thesis for the degree of Doctor of Science of Konstantin Kolegov, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences who is a senior researcher of the laboratory “Mathematical Modeling & IT in Science & Education”.
