ASU College Student Wins Local Lore Competition

The regional stage of the competition “Fatherland” took place in Astrakhan, where an ASU College student Valeriya Maksimenko became the 1st-degree award winner in the section “Compatriots. Lineage” with her research work “In the Footsteps of Old Photos...”

As the student says, her paper is dedicated to an amazing woman — Stanislava Ivanovna Klimashevskaya, who broke stereotypes and fulfilled herself as a creative person, expressing her talent as a head of her own photo studio.

According to the young researcher, she is interested not only in events of the past but also in the process of creative search, when you, being like in a detective story, have to unravel a tangle of circumstances and facts, the central figure of which is usually a vivid person.

The ASU College congratulates the student and her scientific supervisor Elena Kornienko on the victory and wishes Valeriya Maksimenko success at the all-Russian stage of the competition.
