Jumper from Astrakhan State University Sets Another Record

On February 5, a student of the ASU Faculty of Physical Training & Sports Aleksey Kolomin, who goes in for rope skipping, set a new Russian record “Maximum number of triple-time rope jump” during the interval of the handball match between Astrakhanochka and CSKA teams.

The young man decided to start the year of 2020 with another challenge. He managed to make 402 triple-time rope jumps. Such jumps are made with jumping out on two legs and a triple turn of the rope.

It should be recalled than in late 2018, the student entered the Record Book of Russia, having made 11,745 jumps in an hour’s time, while in October 2019, INTERRECORD international book recorded Aleksey’s another achievement — he made 14,308 jumps in an hour.

Now the athlete is going to win at the Rope-Skipping Championship of Russia, which will take place in May 2020 in Moscow, as part of the ASU team “Astra-Delta”.

The team “Astra-Delta”, under coach Irina Yankevich, a senior teacher of the ASU Department of Games in Sports & Adaptive Physical Training, unites 20 students in 5 sports — rope skipping, baton twirling, majorettes, cheersport and paracheer. The team athletes are members of Russian national teams and rank high in competitions.
