ASU Rector Konstantin Markelov Congratulates Men on Defender of the Fatherland Day

February 23 is a significant date for most citizens of Russia, when we honour not only those who have served in the army or are getting ready to this honourable duty but also those who can be worthily called real men in the broadest interpretation of this word.

The holiday is a symbol of the most important elements of masculinity — valour, nobleness, dignity and power. These traits are necessary not only in combat conditions but in everyday life as well. Only a real man can intercede for someone who was much aggrieved, to protect the weak, to lend his shoulder in a difficult situation, to set a good example to the next generations.
