Konstantin Markelov — Special Guest at Azerbaijan TV Channel

The Rector took part in the “Global Dialogue”, a sociopolitical program at the first international TV channel of the country “CBC TV Azerbaijan” within the framework of his business trip to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The in-studio guest spoke about the cooperation of Astrakhan State University with Azerbaijan universities and about outlined projects — implementation of exchange programmes for students and teaching staff, double-degree programmes and joint projects with the UNEC Russian Economic School. Besides, Konstantin Markelov presented his report at the conference “Digital Economy: Modern Challenges and Real Opportunities” in Baku.

During the interview, Konstantin Markelov marked out Azerbaijan’s international cooperation not only with Astrakhan region but also with ASU — President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has been an Honorary Professor of ASU since 2016. Besides, at the moment the university is training about 250 citizens of Azerbaijan.

According to Konstantin Markelov, the university is going to further extend the partnership with the Republic of Azerbaijan, that’s why business communication between teachers, deans and faculties is under way. The Astrakhan delegation also discussed projects on training for teachers with the top-management of the Association of |Teachers of Russian in Azerbaijan. The Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation of Astrakhan State University is one of the best in Russia, says Konstantin Markelov. So, staff, teachers and students of Baku universities could advance their language proficiency there.

“I’m glad to see that rectors of ASU partner universities in Azerbaijan also are actively engaged and are ready for cooperation. I think we’ll have very good prospects in future,” stressed Konstantin Markelov.
