Ambassador of the Czech Republic Is Shown ASU Innovative Developments
Astrakhan State University welcomed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Russia V?t?zslav Pivo?ka. Rector Konstantin Markelov presented several facilities of the university to the diplomat and outlined plans for further cooperation.
The distinguished guest was shown the key structural units of the university. Vítězslav Pivoňka visited laboratories of the Institute of Physics & Mathematics where he had a look at robotic inventions in the spheres of agriculture, education, industry, engineering, etc.
In the Innovative Technological Centre to Create Multimedia Content, the diplomat saw how the motion capture system is used for studies on human biomechanics.
The guest also was shown the Laboratory of Logistic Processes Modeling with a modern automated storage equipment. Then the Ambassador was told about activities of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation which trains highly skilled specialists in interpretation and translation.
Vítězslav Pivoňka commended a high level of the infrastructure of Astrakhan State University and stressed that the ability to put one’s ideas into practice as early as from the first years of study is very important for young talents.
After the excursion, the parties discussed some issues of relations between the Czech Republic and Astrakhan region in the spheres of science and education. The business meeting also featured the rectors of Astrakhan State Medical University and Astrakhan State Technical University. The colleagues expressed great interest in cooperation with Czech HEIs.
