Students of Astrakhan State University Have a Talk with Czech Ambassador
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Russia V?t?zslav Pivo?ka met with representatives of the Faculty of Social Communications, Faculty of Foreign Languages, Historical Faculty and Law Faculty on March 3 within the framework of his visit to ASU.
During the conversation, the attendees learnt that Vítězslav Pivoňka had arrived at Astrakhan in order to develop cooperation in regions. The Ambassador told the audience about the history of foundation of the Czech Republic, its regime, about the attitude toward sanctions and the economic situation in the country, as well as about the system of education.
At the end of his speech, Vítězslav Pivoňka noted that he would answer any questions of the students with great pleasure, because he is interested a lot in what the Russian youth thinks about and what issues are of concern for young people. The first question was about a possibility to get education in the Czech Republic within certain programmes, as Astrakhan students do not know the Czech language so far.
Konstantin Markelov and Vítězslav Pivoňka agreed to consider the issue of establishment of partner relations between ASU and Czech HEIs, which will be a basis for opening a centre of the Czech language and culture. Functioning of such a centre will allow Astrakhan students to learn the language.
