ASU MA Students Interpret for German Theatre Director
The Astrakhan State Theatre of Opera and Ballet is one of the main places on interest in our city. High-profile people of art come to the region from around the world to take part in magnificent performances.
The ASU Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation provides linguistic support at loads of cultural events and meetings. This time, MA students of CITS had another chance to work “in the field”.
The Astrakhan Theatre of Opera and Ballet is getting ready to present the legendary opera “Carmen” staged by German director Hans- Joachim Frey. Students of ASU made for the theatre to help with interpretation.
At the lessons, delivered by experts of the Caspian Higher School of Interpreting and Translation, MA students are prepared for real-life interpreting conditions — which are not always ideal — all the time. However, specialists must be able to cope with stress and find solutions in difficult situations. That’s way volunteering is an excellent way to show students the reality of their profession.
