In February 2020, 2nd-year MA student of CITS Andrey Kuzmenko undertook a unique traineeship at the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent).

At the beginning of the traineeship, he studied theoretical aspects of patenting. Head of the International Cooperation Centre Andrey Zhuravlev and Head of one of the units of the centre Valeriya Maksimova explained with specific examples the procedure of ensuring protection of industry property units. The expert talked about the stages of submission of a patent application, a financial component of the application submission, invention patent validity period and a lot more.

Then the student started working on translation of a section that includes systems of control and regulation of different devices, from regular office printers and PCs to complex software at large steel factories, in medicine, aviation, green and nuclear chemistry.

At the end of the traineeship, the student learnt about specificity of Rospantent interaction with such organizations as the Eurasian Patent Organization, World Intellectual Property Organization and the European Patent Organization.
