ASU Researchers Sum Up Results of Work on RFBR Project

The scientific team, headed by senior scientist of the Laboratory for Research of Social, Political and Cultural Dynamics of Lower Volga & Caspian Sea Region Mikhail Topchiev, consists of young researchers — graduates of the Faculty of Social Communications of Astrakhan State University VyacheslavDryagalov, LyubovKholova and AleksandrRogov.

The representatives of Astrakhan State University studied modern Internet religions, their classification and the issue of confessional security within the framework of the project “Transnational Religious Networks and Confessional Security” of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research. The obtained results, connected with the study on transgressive transition in traditional religions and mechanisms of the influence of transnational religious networks on the modern youth, were reflected by the research team in a series of scientific papers, published in Russian and foreign scientific journals (Russian Science Citation Index, Higher Attestation Commission, Web of Science, Scopus).

The grant participants have also been presenting the results of their work to the scientific community at all-Russia and international conferences for three years.

The complex of the obtained data formed a basis for a joint monograph “Transnational Religious Networks in System of Confessional Security: Regional Aspect” to be published in 2021.
