ASU Students Win Bronze Medals in Internet Olympiad

22 students haverepresented Astrakhan State University at the second stage of the competition in the categories “Physics”, “Mathematics”, “Chemistry” and “Computer Science”. Five of them entered the top-3 awardees upon results of the competition.

The second round of the Open International Internet-Olympiad, organized by the Research & Development Institute of Higher Education Quality Monitoring together with the National Foundation for Support of Innovations in Higher Education, has been held this spring.

This year, the final round of the Open International Internet-Olympiad involved about 3,000 students from 190 HEIs and HEI branches of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tadzhikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Slovenia.

Participation of ASU students in this event has already become traditional. It is usually held in two stages — one in Astrakhan and the other at the Volgograd State University. This year, the COVID-19 infection has made travelling impossible, that is why the organizers made a decision to give the participants an opportunity to complete a part of the tasks without leaving their home. Besides, as Associate Professor of the ASU Department of Information Technologies Yuri Brumshteynnotes, competitions in some subjects, for example in statistics, economics, ecology, which our students had also been invited to, were postponed for autumn.

We congratulate the winners and all the participants of the second stage of the Student Internet-Olympiad. The new academic year will bring new competitions, and everyone interested will be able to take part in them.
