ASU Tuition Will Not Increase in the Beginning of New Academic Year
That is what Rector of Astrakhan State University Konstantin Markelov announced during his online meeting with students, which took place on May 21. The decision was made at another meeting of the ASU Academic Council.
A set of other measures will also be introduced in order to support students in the situation our country is facing now. For example, the university administration considered a possibility of payment for educational programmes by installment. Prolongation conditions were also set for the students who pay for their education: for example, if the educational service receivers cannot pay the tuition in due time for serious cause, no penalty or interests will be imposed.
The university is also ready to provide the students with consultations on filling in documents to take out and a student loan in the banks.
Speaking about the traditional types of support, the rector noted that all scholarships and financial aid would remain upon submission of the respective applications.
Foreign students asked the rector what they should do if someone cannot return to their motherland during the summer holidays. Konstantin Markelov explained that the foreign students could live in the dormitories in summer until the international transport communication is re-opened — nobody will oust them. Graduates of the university will also have the right to stay in the dormitories provided that there are vacant beds.
