ASU Rector Thanks University Representatives for Participation in Victory Day Events

Konstantin Markelov has commended staff members and students of Astrakhan State University for organization and holding of the online celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory.

It should be recalled that on the threshold of the anniversary date, the faculties, college and ASU branch in Znamensk prepared their projects on the Great Patriotic War and its heroes and held patriotic events online.

For example, the Directorate for Extracurricular Activities & Student Initiatives Development and the United Council of Students organized an online baton “Along the Streets of Our Glory”, an online concert “Memory” within the activities of the student bard club, a quiz “Songs of Wartime” on Instagram and video greetings from international students on the Victory within the Foreign Students Association. Students also held an online game “Risk” within the activities of the student club “Volunteers of Victory”, and a campaign “Dove of Peace” was held in cooperation with the Art Platform Project Office.

The ASU Cultural Centre implemented a project “Victory in Stories” in the social media — a kind of online “Immortal Regiment”, where everyone could tell the others about his/her grandparents or great-grandparents who had gone through the war. The ASU College, in their turn, launched an online competition “Great War — Great Victory”, where teachers, administrative staff and students sang songs and recited poems about war.
