Astrakhan State University Celebrates All-Russia Physical Culturist Day

Each year, Russia has a celebration in honour of the athletes on the second Saturday of August. Members of the ASU School of Sports, Physical Development & Healthy Lifestyle also joined the celebration. This year, they’ve decided to hold water sporting event “Blue Lane Competition”.

The celebration brought together children who swim in the ASU swimming pool. Various aged boys and girls, as well as their parents were invited in advance, and the event was held according to all the measures and requirements of the Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights.

Four teams of participants competed in water relay races with the use of various life preservers — swim rings, boards, balls, etc.

“The participants did their best not to let their teams down and demonstrated their athletic skills they’ve mastered in only a few months of going to our swimming pool. It was great, fun and, above all, good for their health. The sports celebration was a success. Thank all our young champions for their participation, and the main fans — for their support!” said coach and manager of the ASU School of Sports, Physical Development & Healthy Lifestyle Natalia Lisunova.

Once the water relay races were over, all the participants got certificates and sweet prizes.
