Rector of Astrakhan State University Meets with Head of Rossotrudnichestvo
Konstantin Markelov and Evgeniy Primakov discussed vectors of development of the ASU international cooperation with educational institutions of foreign countries, possibilities of closer cooperation in university’s projects in the Caspian region, countries of Central Asia and Southeast Asia. Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo for Education Pavel Shevtsov also attended the meeting.
Konstantin Markelov presented the main areas of university’s activities and promising projects on strengthening international ties to the head of the federal agency. The rector also told about specificity of the cooperation the university is facing in implementation of international projects.
Konstantin Markelov told his colleague that ASU is running linguistic and cultural centres, in particular of the Turkmen language and culture, Iranian studies and Farsi. The university is going to open a centre of the Uzbek language, as well as a centre of education, science and technologies in Azerbaijan at the Astrakhan Business Centre in Baku.
The rector suggested that Rossotrudnichestvo uses ASU as a basic venue for scientific and humanitarian events of the agency. Evgeniy Primakov reacted positively on this initiative and, in his turn, proposed to discuss this issue with representatives of the Russian Export Centre. Besides, the head of Rossotrudnichestvo stressed that ASU can get involved into joint work with the Russian Export Centre within a pentalateral agreement on economic and commercial cooperation between the Caspian states. Now its implementation has passed to an active stage. Evgeniy Primakov also invited the university to build partnership with the Russian Centre of Science and Culture
