ASU Innovators’ Project Made It to Final of All-Russia Competition

A regional stage of competition “Young Entrepreneur of Russia” has been held in Astrakhan. Ph.D. student of Astrakhan State University Dmitry Reztsov successfully presented a team business project on production of submersibles and won in category “Innovative Entrepreneurship”.

The student presented the ASU scientific project of SMELCOM ROV, an underwater remotely operated robotic system; its main designer is Master’s degree student of the Faculty of Digital Technologies and Cybersecurity Pavel Tamkov. The robot is meant for environmental monitoring of the water resources, examination of underwater facilities, bottom sounding — these functions will be appreciated by shipbuilding companies for sure.

It should be noted that the ASU engineers already cooperate with Lotus shipbuilding plant and the regional enterprise of LUKOIL on this project, conducting some joint research. In early September, SMELCOM ROV was presented at the all-Russia educational youth forum “Territory of Thoughts”, where it was well received by experts.

30 young entrepreneurs from Astrakhan region took part in the competition. The jury stressed a high level of the entrants’ preparation this year. The winners will present their region at the federal stage of the competition in Surgut.
